Sowore accompanies Lagos corper to NYSC office over viral video controversy

Human rights activist and 2023 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, visited the NYSC Local Government Inspector’s office today. He accompanied a serving corps member, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, also known as Raye, along with a team of lawyers. This follows a viral video in which Raye criticized the high cost of living under President Bola Tinubu’s government.

In her video, Raye expressed frustration over the rising cost of essentials. Later, she claimed that some NYSC officials threatened her and asked her to delete the video. This led to public outrage, with many Nigerians condemning the alleged attempt to silence her.

Sowore shared photos and videos from their visit, stating that the officials who were supposed to question Raye were absent. As of now, the NYSC has not released an official statement regarding the issue.
