Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has said that Jadon Sancho should not stay at Chelsea because he is not performing well enough. Gallas believes the English winger must do more to prove himself.
Speaking about Chelsea’s recent match against Arsenal, Gallas was not impressed with Sancho’s performance. Chelsea lost 1-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, with Mikel Merino scoring the only goal.
Gallas told Stadium Astro, “Sancho is a talented player, but we don’t know why he can’t perform. At Borussia Dortmund, he was amazing. At Manchester United, things didn’t go well for him. When he first arrived at Chelsea, he looked like his old self, but then he disappeared.”
The former defender added, “I don’t know what the issue is, but right now, he cannot stay at Chelsea because he needs to do more.”
Sancho joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United last summer. If Chelsea finishes 14th or higher in the Premier League, his transfer could become permanent for a fee between £22 million and £25 million. However, Gallas believes Chelsea should reconsider this decision.
