Trump cancels Biden’s order on advancing LGBTQI globally

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order canceling 19 policies approved by former President Joe Biden. One of the key orders revoked is the Presidential Memorandum of February 4, 2021, which focused on supporting the rights of LGBTQI people around the world.

In addition to this, Trump also canceled policies related to:

  • Using data to respond to COVID-19 and future health emergencies
  • Strengthening America’s foreign policy and security workforce
  • Increasing the minimum wage for federal contractors

With these actions, Trump has now reversed nearly 100 of Biden’s executive orders, targeting policies related to gender rights, labor laws, and government regulations.

Trump also signed an order to reduce the size of the federal government by shutting down certain agencies. Some of the affected entities include:

  • U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness
  • Community Development Financial Institutions Fund
  • Minority Business Development Agency
  • U.S. Arctic Research Commission
  • Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service
  • U.S. Agency for Global Media
  • Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars
  • Institute of Museum and Library Services

According to the White House, these changes are part of an effort to cut waste, fraud, and unnecessary spending in the federal government. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is leading this initiative.
