The Presidency has made it clear that President Bola Tinubu is not thinking about the 2027 election right now.
According to his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, Tinubu is more focused on his economic policies to improve the lives of Nigerians.
Dare shared this on his X page, highlighting key achievements of the administration. He mentioned that foreign reserves have increased, inflation has reduced, and Nigeria’s trade surplus has improved.
He also noted that exports are rising while imports are dropping. Additionally, over $50 billion in investments have been secured, and prices of goods are going down.
Dare emphasized that Tinubu is committed to making a positive impact on Nigeria’s economy before the end of his first term, rather than focusing on political strategies for 2027.
His statement comes at a time when a new political coalition is forming, which could challenge Tinubu in the next election.
Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been meeting with key political figures and recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP). This move is seen as part of efforts to strengthen the opposition.
