A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Gawu area of Abaji, FCT, as a 42-year-old woman, Maman Zainab, collapsed and passed away during a Ramadan Tafsir session at a local mosque.
According to Ismail Bala, a resident, the event took place on Tuesday at around 11:23 AM. Maman Zainab had left her home feeling fine and joined three of her neighbors to attend the religious session, which is common during Ramadan.
During the Tafsir, she whispered to a neighbor that she felt dizzy and had a severe headache. As she attempted to leave the mosque, she suddenly collapsed.
Other women in the mosque quickly took her to a nearby hospital in Gawu Babangida. Unfortunately, doctors confirmed that she had passed away by the time they arrived.
A medical examination suggested that high blood pressure was the cause of her sudden passing.
Following Islamic traditions, Maman Zainab’s burial was conducted the same day. Her death has left her community in deep sorrow, especially as it happened during the sacred month of Ramadan.
This tragic event is a reminder of the importance of regular health check-ups, especially for conditions like high blood pressure. May her soul rest in peace.
