The police in Jigawa State have arrested a 20-year-old woman, Rukayyah Amadu, for allegedly pouring hot water on her co-wife, Asiyah Amadu, which led to her d3ath.

According to the police spokesperson, SP Shi’isu Adam, the incident happened on February 24, 2025, in Buju village, Dutse Local Government Area. It was reported that the two women had a misunderstanding, which led to the attack.

Asiyah Amadu suffered severe burns and was taken to Dutse General Hospital for treatment. Sadly, she passed away on March 4, 2025.

The police arrested Rukayyah Amadu and moved her to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further investigation. During questioning, she confessed to the crime. The police are still looking into the case to understand what led to the tragic event.
