Troops rescue two kidnapped girls in Plateau

The Nigerian Army has rescued two young girls who were kidnapped in Plateau State. Soldiers from the 3 Division, under Operation Safe Haven, carried out the mission on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, around 4:00 p.m. The rescue happened near Josho Village in Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area.

The troops acted based on reliable information about where the victims were being held. When the kidnappers saw the soldiers, they abandoned the girls and ran into the bush.

After searching the area, the soldiers found the two victims—11-year-old Nanbam Adamu and Dorcas Wantu. Both girls are from Mbor Village in Mushere District, Bokkos LGA. The soldiers made sure they were safe and then handed them over to their uncle, Mr. Caleb Mantau, so they could return home.

Meanwhile, the army has started another operation to track down the kidnappers and stop them from harming anyone else.
