Nigeria’s President, Tinubu appoints new NABTEB registrar, others

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Aminu as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

This announcement was made in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Dr. Aminu has a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. He has 28 years of experience in teaching, administration, research, and policy development.

Before his new role, he was the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). He is passionate about vocational education, skills development, and youth empowerment. His research focuses on innovative teaching methods and poverty reduction.

President Tinubu urged him to provide strong leadership at NABTEB to improve the certification of skilled workers, which is crucial for Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Alongside Aminu’s appointment, the President also named Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) board.

Rasaq Olajuwon will serve as UBEC’s Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical), while Tunde Ajibulu will be the Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).

Olorunnimbe has a strong background in leadership and youth empowerment. He is the Group CEO of The Temple Company, which he founded in 2016. His work has brought transformation in education, entertainment, and sports.

He also served on the board of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where he helped create job opportunities and entrepreneurship programs for young Nigerians.

These new appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to improving education, vocational training, and youth development in Nigeria.
