Famous Nigerian comedian AY Makun has been accused of showing off a fake Hermès bag. The accusation came from T20Luxury, a well-known Instagram page that reviews designer fashion.

In February, AY Makun posted a photo of himself carrying what appeared to be a Hermès designer bag. However, on Sunday, T20Luxury shared a post claiming the bag was fake. They also posted a comparison photo of AY’s bag and the original version.

The luxury page advised AY to stop supporting counterfeit products, saying that, as a public figure, he should promote originality. They wrote:

“Dear AY, as a key stakeholder in the entertainment industry and a beneficiary of genuine creativity, it’s more honorable to refrain from supporting the counterfeit fashion industry. Upholding authenticity is important to preserving our reputation as leaders within the Black community.”

The post sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some people criticized AY for allegedly using a fake bag, while others suggested he might not have known it was fake.
