The United States will meet with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia to understand if Ukraine is open to making compromises to end the war with Russia. The meeting will also help the US see if Ukraine is willing to improve relations with the Trump administration.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Jeddah for these discussions. He will be joined by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff. Ukraine’s delegation will be led by Andriy Yermak, a top aide to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy, in his nightly speech, said he would also visit Saudi Arabia on Monday to work towards peace. He hopes the discussions will help bring peace closer and ensure continued US support for Ukraine.
