President Bola Tinubu has congratulated his longtime friend and former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, as he marks his 68th birthday.
Osinbajo served as Nigeria’s Vice President from 2015 to 2023, working closely with President Muhammadu Buhari. Tinubu praised his efforts in governance and his role in delivering key infrastructure projects across the country.
He also recalled how Osinbajo took charge as Acting President when Buhari traveled for medical treatment in the UK, proving his leadership abilities.
Tinubu described Osinbajo as a trusted friend and colleague. He highlighted their time working together when Osinbajo was Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos, helping implement legal and political reforms.
Although Osinbajo contested against Tinubu for the APC presidential ticket in 2023, the President acknowledged his right to do so and emphasized that their friendship remains strong.
Tinubu expressed pride in Osinbajo’s service to Nigeria and the APC, noting how he worked harmoniously with President Buhari.
The President extended his best wishes to Osinbajo, his wife Dolapo, their children, and loved ones, praying for his continued success and good health.
