Soludo arrests pastor for noise pollution, bans gospel preaching in public places

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has taken strict action against noise pollution by banning gospel preaching in public places. This decision came after he confronted a pastor preaching in an open market.

In a video circulating on social media, Soludo warned the preacher to stop, explaining that such activities disrupt public peace. He emphasized that while freedom of religion is respected, it should not interfere with others’ rights.

“If you want to preach, go to your church. You cannot come to the market and disturb others in the name of preaching,” the governor stated. He added that noise pollution is unacceptable and must be controlled.

To enforce this rule, the governor announced that anyone caught violating the ban could face arrest and a fine of N500,000. He also mentioned that the government is working to rid the state of fake native doctors, prophets, and pastors.

This new policy is part of Soludo’s efforts to maintain order and ensure a peaceful environment for residents of Anambra State.
