Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has once again submitted a sexual harassment petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the Nigerian Senate. She presented the petition on behalf of her constituents, led by Zubairu Yakubu.
After submitting it, Senate President Akpabio asked if there were any legal issues stopping the Senate from accepting the petition. Natasha replied that there were none. He then told her to officially present it before the Senate.
The petition was sent to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions, which is led by Senator Neda Imasuen. The committee has been given four weeks to review the petition and report back to the Senate.
This is not the first time Natasha has brought up this issue. She previously submitted the same petition, but it was rejected because it was signed by her instead of members of her constituency. Now, she has corrected that and resubmitted it.
The case is now in the hands of the committee, and many are watching to see what happens next.
