Peter Obi’s influence made PDP lose 2023 Lagos governorship election – Jandor

Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2023 Lagos governorship election, believes he lost due to Peter Obi’s influence.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Jandor explained that his campaign had strong support before the February 25, 2023, elections. However, he said a sudden shift in voter preferences changed everything.

“We did everything, but that wave came and swallowed the whole thing. Nobody saw that coming,” he said.

When asked if he could have won without Peter Obi’s influence in the presidential election, Jandor confidently responded, “Absolutely, I probably would have won.”

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu won with 762,134 votes. Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour came second with 312,329 votes, while Jandor finished third with 62,449 votes.

Jandor’s comments highlight how the political landscape shifted in Lagos due to the strong presence of Peter Obi and the Labour Party during the 2023 elections.
