The Plateau State Police Command has arrested two more suspects linked to the killing of two police officers during a gunfight with kidnappers in Jos South Local Government Area.
The officers, Fatoyo Femi and Inspector Dafur Dashit, were shot and killed on February 25, 2025, in the Little Rayfield community while trying to stop a kidnapping attempt.
With these latest arrests, the total number of suspects taken into custody for the crime has now reached six.
According to the Plateau State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Alabo Alfred, the newly arrested suspects, Abubakar Mohammed and Ahmed Musa, were caught with an AK-47 rifle that had been taken from the fallen officers. The police also recovered 75 rounds of live ammunition.
Authorities have intensified efforts to track down other members of the criminal group and recover more weapons. The police assured residents that they are working hard to make Plateau State safer.
