Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, the former chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State, has claimed that he remains the executive chairman of the council.
He made this statement on Friday while responding to the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Rivers State political crisis.
Nwanosike was among the former LGA chairmen whose tenures had expired but were extended for six months by the Martin Amaewhule-led Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Supreme Court has now ordered the immediate reinstatement of Martin Amaewhule and his fellow lawmakers.
Citing the court’s judgment, Nwanosike insists that he is still the rightful chairman of Ikwerre LGA.
