Three teachers and six pupils seriously injured in Ibadan auto crash

At least three teachers and six students were seriously injured in a road accident in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The crash happened on the morning of Friday, February 28, 2025, along Akala Expressway. A bus carrying students from Zenith Group of Schools, Akeyo, lost control due to brake failure. The vehicle tumbled and crossed onto the other side of the road.

A student who was in the bus said the school owner was also present during the accident. Reports say the bus had over 20 students on board, heading to the Railway Station in Omi, Ibadan, for an excursion.

Emergency teams, including the Nigeria Police and the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), arrived quickly to help.

The injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the other students were moved to Kuola Divisional Police Headquarters in Ibadan.

Authorities are investigating the incident to prevent future accidents.
