FCT police rescue kidnapped PDP organizing secretary and one other in Nasarawa

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully rescued Hon. Shekolo Samuel, a PDP organizing secretary, who was kidnapped in Abuja. Another victim, Nsiyan Chalse Eyang, was also freed after being abducted in a separate incident.

Hon. Shekolo Samuel, a former legislative aide to Senator Philips Tanimu Aduda, was kidnapped on February 25, 2025, around 11:31 a.m. He was taken by armed men along the Guzape–Abacha Barracks bypass in Abuja. Several other motorists and passengers were also abducted during the attack.

Nsiyan Chalse Eyang was kidnapped on February 23, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m. near the hills in Nyanya.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Tunji Disu, confirmed that security forces worked together to rescue the victims. The Police, Department of State Services (DSS), local hunters, and vigilantes teamed up to locate and free them.

  • Shekolo Samuel was rescued in the early hours of February 27, 2025, in the Yelwa Forest area of Nasarawa State, near Gbagalape village.
  • Nsiyan Chalse Eyang was freed on February 26, 2025, after similar security operations.

The police are still searching for the kidnappers and have handed the case over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). Authorities urge residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

This successful rescue mission highlights the importance of coordinated security efforts in fighting crime and ensuring public safety.
