I can beat my chest and say that each governor knows that their allocations to the states have tripled – President Tinubu speaks on the gains of removing fuel subsidy

President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that his administration is committed to the country’s progress, despite criticism from the opposition.

Speaking to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus at the State House Conference Center in Abuja on Tuesday, February 25, Tinubu emphasized that his government prioritizes real results over political distractions.

Our determination to deliver is unshaken despite the cacophony of misguided, unfounded, and gloomy claims made by our detractors, they will continue to talk, but we are extremely focused,” Tinubu declared.

He admitted that some economic policies, like removing the fuel subsidy, have been difficult. However, he insisted that these reforms were necessary to stabilize the economy. According to him, Nigeria would not have survived under the previous subsidy system.

It is a daunting challenge. The policies are difficult, but there was no way Nigeria would have survived with the burden of fuel subsidies. Today, I can beat my chest and say that each governor here knows that their allocations to the states have tripled. We have enough funding for the local governments.” he said

The President pointed out that since the removal of the subsidy, state governments now receive three times more funds. This increase allows them to carry out more development projects and improve services for their people.
