The Yobe State Government has approved a contract worth ₦22.3 billion for the construction of a flyover and an underpass in Damaturu. This project aims to improve road infrastructure and ease traffic in the state capital.
The contract was signed by the Commissioner for Works, Engineer Umar Duddaye, on behalf of the government, while Engineer Habib Geojea represented the construction company, Triacta Nigeria Limited.
According to the commissioner, Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration is focused on developing key infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and drainage systems. The flyover project is expected to be completed within 12 months.
Additionally, the government awarded another contract to Elegance Construction Nigeria Limited for the construction of the Damaturu-Gambir road, which should be completed in nine months.
The commissioner also announced plans to build 23.5 kilometers of new roads and 27 kilometers of drainage systems in Damaturu. Existing roads will also be repaired where needed.
The regional manager of Triacta Nigeria Limited assured the public that the company would complete the flyover and underpass project on time and to high standards.
