Russia and the United States will hold another round of talks in two weeks, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
Last week, both countries had their first discussion about ending the nearly three-year war in Ukraine. The meeting was also aimed at improving their relationship.
The next meeting will take place in another country, but the exact location has not been decided yet. Ryabkov said it is still unclear who will attend from both sides.
He explained that the discussions will focus on two main issues: the war in Ukraine and relations between Russia and the US. Both sides agreed in principle to continue negotiations to solve problems causing tensions.
Ryabkov added that talks on arms control and strategic stability could happen if the US makes positive policy changes. They might also discuss the Middle East situation.
The Kremlin said last week’s meeting mainly focused on Russia-US relations. It described the talks as an important step toward resolving the Ukraine conflict. There is also a chance that Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump might meet later.
