The Osun State election is happening as planned, despite calls for its suspension. Governor Ademola Adeleke cast his vote at Unit 9, Ward 2, in Ede North Local Government Area at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
The election comes with rising tension, as the Nigeria Police Force had warned about possible unrest due to political disagreements.
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Lateef Fagbemi, also advised that the election should not proceed, but officials went ahead with the process.
Adding to the situation, the Labour Party pulled out of the election, saying the safety of its agents was not guaranteed. Despite these concerns, voting is ongoing in different parts of the state.
The security situation remains uncertain, and many are watching closely to see how the election unfolds.
