Viktoria Plzen striker, Rafiu Durosinmi, is excited to be playing again after spending 15 months on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
His injury in 2023 stopped him from moving to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt. Durosinmi had already signed a four-year contract with the German side, but he failed the medical test because of his injury.
Despite this setback, the 22-year-old Nigerian has made a strong comeback. In his last two matches, he has scored three goals and provided one assist for Plzen.
Last weekend, Durosinmi scored twice in Viktoria Plzen’s 2-0 win against Teplice in the league. He continued his fine form by scoring one goal and assisting another in Plzen’s 3-0 victory over Ferencváros in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Speaking to Nova Sport, Durosinmi expressed his joy about returning to the pitch.
“It was not easy to come back from injury, but with the help of the doctor, my family, the physio, and my team, I have returned stronger. On Sunday, I scored twice in the league, and today, I scored again. I am really happy,” he said.
Durosinmi’s impressive return is a great boost for Viktoria Plzen as they continue their campaign in both domestic and European competitions.
