Trump trolls Canada’s Prime Minister Trudeau, calls him ‘Governor’

Former US President Donald Trump has once again mocked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by referring to him as the “Governor” of Canada, treating the country as if it were a US state.

On Thursday, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, repeating his idea that Canada could become the 51st state of the United States. He mentioned this while discussing an American hockey team playing against Canada.

Trump wrote, “I’ll be calling our GREAT American Hockey Team this morning to encourage them for tonight’s game against Canada. With lower taxes and stronger security, Canada may soon become our important Fifty-First State.”

He also mentioned a meeting with US governors in Washington, D.C., saying he wouldn’t be able to attend the hockey game but invited “Governor Trudeau” to join them.

This is not the first time Trump has called Trudeau a governor. In December last year, he referred to him as “Governor Justin Trudeau of the Great State of Canada” after a dinner meeting at Mar-a-Lago.

Earlier in February, Trump said during a Super Bowl preshow interview that he was serious about wanting Canada to join the United States as its 51st state.

Trump’s comments have sparked reactions, with some seeing them as a joke, while others believe he might actually want to push for this idea.
