The Kano State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnapped victim and arrested two suspects during an operation in Munture Forest, Rano Local Government Area (LGA). The police also recovered weapons and stolen livestock during the raid.
According to the police spokesperson, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad launched the operation after receiving a report from a local resident, Tela Alhaji Hudu, from Bebeji LGA.
The victim, Sani Wargi, was kidnapped on February 12 and robbed of ₦1,000,000. His abductors later demanded a ransom of ₦7,000,000 for his release.
The suspects, identified as Sale Alhaji Iliya (27) and Shehu Garba (45) from Gomo Village, Toro LGA, Bauchi State, were caught hiding in Munture Forest.
During interrogation, they confessed to the crime and revealed the names of their accomplices: Ibrahim Snu from Jos, Plateau State, Yahaya Dangi from Rantan, and Bala Snu.
The police recovered a Beretta pistol with live ammunition, two additional bullets, four mobile phones, 36 stolen cows, four sheep, and a sword.
The investigation is still ongoing as the police continue to track down the remaining suspects.
