Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has shared which team he wants to face in the Champions League Round of 16. The French star prefers to play against Atletico Madrid instead of Bayer Leverkusen.
Mbappe spoke after scoring a hat-trick in Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday night. With this win, Real Madrid secured their place in the last 16 with a 6-3 aggregate score.
Atletico Madrid has been in great form this season. They are currently third in La Liga, just one point behind joint leaders Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Diego Simeone’s team also secured automatic qualification for the Champions League knockout stages. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen finished in the top eight.
When asked about the next round, Mbappe said:
“It was a great performance. I want to make history with this club and my teammates. Bayer Leverkusen or Atleti next? Both are tough, but I prefer Atleti, so we save ourselves a trip!”
Real Madrid fans will now wait to see which team they face in the next round of the Champions League.
