Elon Musk has agreed to discuss a new tax refund plan, known as the ‘DOGE Dividend,’ with former President Donald Trump. If the plan is approved, every American taxpayer could receive a $5,000 refund check.
The proposal, suggested by Janes Fishback, CEO of Invest Azoria, was shared on Musk’s X account on February 18. Fishback explained that the plan would take 20% of the savings from DOGE’s efficiency measures and return it to taxpayers. The remaining 80% would go toward paying off the national debt.
“Our proposal for President Trump’s DOGE Dividend would be capped at 20% of DOGE’s total savings, with the other 80% used to pay down the national debt,” Fishback wrote in response to US Senator Ron Joshson’s support for the plan.
If Trump approves the plan, taxpayers across the US could receive a significant refund as part of the government’s cost-cutting efforts.
