In Anambra State, a Catholic priest from the Diocese of Awka, Rev. Fr. Jude Muokwe, is accused of assaulting a 50-year-old widow, Mrs. Ikeorah Maureen.

The incident reportedly took place at Angel Primary School, Ifitedunu, where the widow works as a teacher.

According to reports, the widow and other staff members were discussing salary increases in one of the school’s classrooms when the priest walked in and began whipping her, causing serious injuries. A video of the widow crying and showing her injuries has gone viral on social media.

The widow, from the Ifitedunu community in Dunukofia LGA, was left in shock after the attack. Although the full details of the incident are unclear, it is believed that the priest was angered by the salary increase discussion.

When asked for comment, Rev. Fr. Jude Muokwe neither confirmed nor denied the incident but declined to speak on the matter.
