The Katsina Local Government election took place on Saturday across the state. Many key political figures participated in the voting process, including former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari cast his vote at Polling Unit 003 in Sarkin Yarn Ward A, Daura. He was joined by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Adnan Na-Habu Daura, and they both voted around 11:09 am.
Governor Dikko Radda, his wife Zulaihat, and his Deputy, Faruk Jobe, also cast their votes. Other notable figures, including former Katsina State Governors Ibrahim Shema and Aminu Masari, as well as senators and ministers, voted at their respective polling units.
After casting his vote at the Kofar Katika Polling Unit in Radda Ward, Charanchi LGA, Governor Radda expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would win the election.
He highlighted the projects his administration had completed since taking office and assured voters that their votes would count.
“I believe that at the end of the exercise, with the kind of projects executed since we came on board, we believe so much in APC and APC will come out victorious. People should expect their votes to be counted,” Radda stated.
The election is expected to determine the leadership of local governments across Katsina State.
