The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has urged Governor Uba Sani to call on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to investigate Nasir El-Rufai and his associates for allegedly looting funds.
The PDP has also asked law enforcement agencies to focus on those implicated and ensure they face prosecution. Abraham Alberah Catoh, the PDP’s state publicity secretary, emphasized that the party is closely monitoring the situation and will respond as necessary.
Catoh stated that the Kaduna State House of Assembly’s investigation into the financial activities of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has validated the PDP’s long-standing concerns about El-Rufai’s administration’s expenditures.
The PDP is urging Governor Uba Sani to invite the EFCC and ICPC to thoroughly investigate and recover any stolen funds linked to El-Rufai and his associates, as recommended by the Assembly’s report, and to prosecute those found guilty.
The statement highlighted that Governor Uba Sani had previously supported a loan application while he was a senator, and taking this step would clear him of public suspicion and scrutiny.
The PDP praised the House of Assembly and its committee members for their thorough work and for ensuring transparency and good governance in the state.
