Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has announced a ban on all political activities and rallies in the state. The decision follows a recent security crisis in Maru Local Government Area.

A statement from Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast, Media, and Public Affairs, confirmed the ban. It was shared with journalists in Gusau, the state capital.

The statement pointed out that the political season has not yet begun anywhere in Nigeria. Governor Lawal emphasized that the ban takes effect immediately. He also directed security agencies to take action against any politician or group that violates the order.

This move aims to prevent further security issues in the state. Residents and politicians have been urged to comply with the directive.
