Chelsea not planning to sign free agent striker – Maresca

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has made it clear that the club is not looking to sign a free agent striker.

Speaking ahead of their Premier League match against Brighton on Friday, Maresca confirmed that the team will continue working with the players they already have.

For the past two transfer windows, Chelsea has been linked with several top strikers, including Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney, and Alexander Isak. However, the club did not sign any of them.

Maresca, as quoted by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, said, “We’re NOT planning to sign any free agent striker, we will work with the players we have.”

He also addressed the situation of young forward Deivid Washington, saying, “We’re also NOT blocking Deivid Washington’s exit on loan, he’s in talks.”

Chelsea is currently in fourth place in the Premier League table with 43 points from 24 games. They come into the Brighton match after a 2-1 win against West Ham. However, the last time Chelsea faced Brighton in the FA Cup, they suffered a 2-1 defeat.

The Blues will be hoping to continue their good league form as they face Brighton again.
