Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has said that political rivalries in Nigeria are not as serious as people think. He described them as a form of entertainment for the public, especially on social media.
Fayemi shared this view during his 60th birthday thanksgiving service at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Isan Ekiti. He dismissed the idea that Nigerian politicians truly hate each other.
He pointed out that despite political differences, many politicians maintain good relationships. As an example, he mentioned former Governor Segun Oni, who attended his event.
He also noted that another former governor, Ayodele Fayose, would have been present if he was available.
Fayemi emphasized that in Ekiti State, politicians see themselves as part of one group
