Kanye West, also known as Ye, has shared the reason behind the name of his upcoming album, Bully. During an appearance on The Download podcast with Justin LaBoy, Ye said his 9-year-old son, Saint West, inspired the album title.
According to Kanye, Saint was playing with another child when he kicked them. When asked why, Saint reportedly said, “Because he weak.” Kanye found this amusing and said it made him realize his son was “really a bully.”
The podcast host, Justin LaBoy, laughed and jokingly credited Saint as the inspiration behind Bully. He also suggested that Saint’s behavior might be inherited from Kanye himself.
After Kanye’s comments went public, many people criticized him for seemingly approving of bullying. Some social media users called his remarks “weird” and “disgusting,” while others accused him of bad parenting.
One user wrote, “He’s proud to have raised a bully smh.” Another commented, “As if your child kicking another child for being ‘weak’ is something to brag about. Disgusting.”
This is not the first time Saint West has been in the spotlight for controversial actions. A few months ago, his YouTube account was shut down after he posted disrespectful content about Kamala Harris while she was running for U.S. President.
One post included an illustration of a man checking the bottom of his shoe with the words, “I stepped in sh**,” followed by a photo of Kamala Harris. Another clip featured an image of Harris with words like “dumb,” “stupid,” and “crazy” overlaid.
