Nigerian singer Asake recently faced criticism from his former strategist, Tunde Phoenix, over what many believe was a fake relationship stunt.

Asake went viral after photos of him with American model India Love surfaced online. Many assumed they were dating, but Tunde Phoenix quickly called out the stunt.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, he questioned whether this was the best strategy Asake could come up with to promote his new music. He called it a “dead rollout” and said people could see through the act.

Tunde advised Asake to focus on releasing his music instead of using fake relationships for attention. He also accused Asake of trying to copy Burna Boy and Chloe Bailey, who previously sparked dating rumors.

India Love later clarified that she and Asake are not in a relationship and that the pictures were from a music video. Tunde wasted no time sharing her response, using it to mock Asake even further.

“She don confess,” Tunde wrote.
