Gary Neville, a former Manchester United defender, has warned Chelsea that they won’t have an easy path to the top of the Premier League.
He believes the team will face ups and downs because they have a young squad, and this will make it hard for them to compete for major titles in the short term.
Neville, speaking after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over West Ham United, pointed out that the Blues need at least three more signings to challenge top teams like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
He said Chelsea needs a goalkeeper, a centre-forward, and possibly a centre-back to strengthen their squad.
At the moment, Chelsea is in 4th place in the Premier League with 43 points, four points behind Nottingham Forest, who are in 3rd.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Chelsea is expected to make moves to improve their team, and they are reportedly interested in signing Victor Osimhen after the season ends.
