Bode George backs Ude-Okoye as PDP National Secretary

Bode George, a senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a well-respected elder, has endorsed Sunday Ude-Okoye as the true National Secretary of the party.

His support comes after a dispute between Ude-Okoye and Samuel Anyanwu, both claiming the position.

Recently, the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) met and decided that Ude-Okoye should be recognized as the party’s rightful National Secretary.

They urged the party’s National Working Committee to swear him in immediately.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bode George explained that his support for Ude-Okoye is based on the Court of Appeal ruling, which confirmed him as the legitimate National Secretary. George emphasized that no other court ruling challenged this decision.

He also stated that if Anyanwu goes to the Supreme Court and wins, the party will accept the outcome.

George called on Anyanwu to step down for the sake of peace and unity within the party. He expressed confidence that despite the internal struggles, the PDP remains more organized than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He also reassured that the PDP’s foundation is strong, and there is no fear of it collapsing.
