U.S Train Catches Fire With 350 Passengers On Board In Pennsylvania (Photos)

A terrifying moment occurred when a SEPTA train carrying 350 passengers caught fire in Pennsylvania on Thursday evening.

The train was traveling from Philadelphia to Delaware when flames erupted on one of its cars near Crum Lynne around 6:15 p.m.

Images from the scene show thick smoke pouring from the train, with orange flames visible inside. Passenger Dnasia Buckner shared her experience with Fox News, describing how she started smelling smoke just 15 minutes into the journey. As smoke spread, passengers moved to different cars for safety, but the situation worsened as the fire spread.

Buckner recalled that the conductors didn’t provide immediate updates, leaving passengers to wonder what was happening. Eventually, the train doors were opened, and passengers were told to evacuate. It took about 15 minutes for everyone to leave the train.

Firefighters quickly arrived to put out the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

SEPTA’s spokesperson, Andrew Busch, praised the quick actions of the train staff, which helped ensure everyone’s safety.

As a result of the incident, train service to Wilmington has been halted, and Amtrak services along the Northeast Corridor have also been affected. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine what sparked the fire.
