BREAKING: PDP BoT snubs Anyanwu, affirms Ude-Okoye as National Secretary

On Wednesday, the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially confirmed Sunday Ude-Okoye as the party’s National Secretary. The announcement was made by BoT Chairman Adolphus Wabara during the party’s 80th session in Abuja.

The decision followed a thorough review of documents from both sides involved in the dispute. Ude-Okoye, a former PDP National Youth Leader, had been nominated by the party’s South-East Caucus to replace Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary.

Earlier, on January 31, PDP governors, led by Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, supported a Court of Appeal ruling that affirmed Ude-Okoye’s appointment. They urged the National Working Committee (NWC) to implement the ruling. The PDP Governors Forum also distanced itself from Anyanwu, confirming Ude-Okoye as National Secretary during a meeting in Asaba, Delta State.

Despite the party’s stance, Anyanwu has continued to challenge the position, leading to a clash at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja last week.
