Why Trump won’t have problem with Tinubu – Jimoh Ibrahim

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim of Ondo South recently shared his thoughts on the relationship between Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu and former U.S. President Donald Trump. According to Ibrahim, there will be no issues between the two leaders due to their differing but complementary leadership styles.

Ibrahim explained that Tinubu is a liberalist, not a realist. This means that Tinubu’s approach to politics focuses on collaboration, cooperation, and democratic values, which aligns with the American system. As both Nigeria and the U.S. are liberal countries, Ibrahim believes the two nations won’t be in conflict.

However, Ibrahim pointed out a key difference between the two leaders. While Tinubu supports working together to solve problems, Trump’s approach is more about taking a realist stance, which sometimes leads to more aggressive and independent policies. Despite these differences, Ibrahim believes this won’t cause problems between the two, as both countries value liberal democracy.

Ibrahim also touched on global politics, suggesting that a leader can’t afford to be in conflict with multiple powerful nations at once. He emphasized the importance of balancing relationships with countries like Russia, Britain, and others, especially when managing complex global affairs.

In conclusion, Ibrahim is confident that Tinubu’s liberalist approach will help ensure a strong and peaceful relationship between Nigeria and the U.S., regardless of who holds power in America.
