CAF unveils match schedule for AFCON 2025

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the complete match schedule for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco, will feature nine stadiums across six cities.

The opening match will take place in Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, on Sunday, December 21. In this highly anticipated game, Morocco will face Comoros at the newly constructed Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah, a massive 69,500-seat stadium.

Rabat will be home to four of the tournament’s match venues, while the cities of Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fes, and Tangier will each host one match. For the quarter-finals, the games will be held in Rabat’s Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium, as well as in Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir.

As for the semi-finals, Rabat and Tangier will play host to these crucial matchups. The third-place play-off will take place at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.

A total of 52 matches will be played over the course of the competition. Cote d’Ivoire, the defending champions of AFCON, will aim to retain their title.
