Napoli, an Italian football club, has turned down a €65 million offer from Galatasaray to permanently sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan last September, has been in fantastic form, scoring 16 goals and providing 5 assists in 20 matches.
While Galatasaray wants to keep him, Napoli is holding out for the full €75 million release clause. According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli isn’t willing to accept a lower price and wants the entire amount outlined in Osimhen’s contract.
The Nigerian striker’s release clause was initially €130 million but was reduced after he signed a new contract with Napoli before his loan move to Galatasaray. Now, the Turkish club has the option to buy Osimhen for €75 million, plus an extra €6 million in compensation.
It’s clear that Napoli is serious about getting the full value for Osimhen, who has been one of the top performers in Turkish football this season.
