A Kano State High Court has temporarily stopped the Nigeria Police from arresting or bothering Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC). This decision comes after a recent legal case filed by Rimingado, the Attorney General of Kano State, and the Kano State PCACC.

The case was filed against the Nigeria Police Force and several senior police officers, including the Inspector General of Police and the Kano State Commissioner of Police. The court’s order now shields Rimingado from further police action until the case is heard again on February 2, 2025. This ruling prevents the police from making any further arrests, harassing, or detaining him in the meantime.

The case has been adjourned for hearing on February 2, 2025. During this time, the court’s order stands, meaning the police cannot arrest or take further action against Rimingado until the hearing.
