Manchester United and Chelsea are exploring a potential swap deal that could see Alejandro Garnacho move to Stamford Bridge in exchange for Christopher Nkunku heading to Old Trafford.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks between the two Premier League giants began at the end of December, with the possibility of separate transfers in mind. However, he clarified that while the idea is still on the table, the deal is not advanced yet.
Garnacho, the 20-year-old winger from Manchester United, is reportedly more interested in joining Chelsea than other clubs, including Napoli. Napoli had made an offer for Garnacho, but Manchester United rejected it, initially asking for £70 million. However, reports suggest that United has since lowered their asking price to €65 million (£54.8 million).
In another sign that Garnacho might be open to the move, his agents were spotted at Chelsea’s recent match against Wolves, where Chelsea won 3-1. While nothing has been finalized, the possibility of a Garnacho-Nkunku swap deal is still being discussed.
