Leave Benue if you’re unhappy – Alia warns against undermining him

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State made headlines recently with a strong message to anyone who might be dissatisfied with his leadership. Speaking at the funeral of the late royal leader, Zaki Toko Zumbe, in the Vandeikya Local Government Area on Tuesday, Alia declared that he is the only governor in the state and that anyone unhappy with his leadership should leave.

In his speech, Alia emphasized the importance of respecting his authority, stating clearly, “I am the only governor, and there are no two governors in the state.” He expressed that the people of Benue must stand united behind his leadership. Alia made it clear that any attempts to undermine him or challenge his position would not be tolerated.

The governor particularly addressed the Tiv nation, a major ethnic group in Benue. He stressed that anyone in the Tiv community who disagrees with his leadership should leave both Kunav land and Tiv land. This direct message was meant to reinforce his role as the sole leader of the state, with no room for opposition to his authority.

Alia’s warning reflects his determination to maintain control over the state and ensure that his governance is respected. He made it clear that his leadership should not be questioned, and he expected complete loyalty from the people of Benue.

The message from Governor Alia underscores the importance of unity and political stability in Benue State. In a time where political tensions can easily arise, the governor’s words serve as a reminder of the need for strong leadership to avoid divisions that could weaken the state’s progress. Alia’s remarks also suggest that he is committed to upholding his position as the elected governor, and he will not tolerate any challenges to his authority.

Alia’s speech, while firm, also highlights his resolve to lead Benue with authority and ensure that the state moves forward under his guidance. For Alia, it’s clear that anyone who is unwilling to support his vision for Benue should consider leaving rather than staying and creating division.
