Liverpool and Barcelona are the first two teams to secure their spots in the knockout stages of this year’s UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool, under Jürgen Klopp, has been dominating since the start of the group phase. With a 2-1 win against Lille on Tuesday, they kept their perfect record intact, having won all seven of their matches so far. This gives them 21 points, securing their place in the next round.
Barcelona also booked their spot in the knockout stages with a dramatic 5-4 victory over Benfica. This win brought them to 18 points, ensuring they’ll move on to the next round.
Once all teams have played eight matches, the top eight will advance to the last 16, while teams ranked between ninth and 24th will compete in play-offs for the remaining spots.
With Liverpool and Barcelona already through, all eyes are now on the final matchdays to see who else will join them in the knockout stages.
