The EFCC in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, caught 40 people suspected of internet fraud on Thursday.
The EFCC shared this news along with images on X.com the following day.
According to the EFCC, the suspects were captured in morning raids at two locations in the state. Twenty-one were nabbed in Eket, and nineteen in Ikot Ekpene.
Upon their arrest, the suspects were found with various items, including a Toyota SUV XLE, nine laptops, 64 smartphones, an internet router, and a smartwatch.
The EFCC stated that after investigations, the suspects will face charges in court.
Earlier in May, the EFCC’s Enugu Zonal Command detained 23 suspected internet fraudsters.
In March, the EFCC arrested 45 and 74 individuals for internet fraud in Lagos and Ogun States, respectively.
