Two young men were arrested in Adamawa State on Sunday, January 19, for being involved in a robbery. The suspects, Hamza Ibrahim (19) and Abdulkarim Suleiman (20), were caught with a tricycle, a sharp knife, and stolen mobile phones.
The police believe the suspects are part of a group called the “Shila Boys,” who have been involved in several robberies around the state. The arrest came after a report from a concerned citizen, who saw the suspects robbing someone along Yola Road. They had taken an iPhone XR from Uba Ibrahim at Jippu Jam gate in Yola.
Police quickly responded and tracked down the suspects at Malamre Junction. During further investigation, the police discovered that the suspects had also stolen an iPhone 7 from Bello Babangida along the Jimeta-Yola road. The stolen phones and the tricycle used in the crimes were recovered.
The police are still investigating to see if the suspects were involved in other robberies in the area.
