DJ Jimmy Jatt, a well-known Nigerian disc jockey, has recently shared his personal health journey, revealing the challenges he faced over the past few years, including the loss of his sight and his eventual kidney transplant.
In 2022, the popular DJ shared that he had undergone a successful kidney transplant. In a recent interview on Channels TV’s ‘Rubbin Minds’ with Ebuka, DJ Jimmy Jatt spoke more about his medical battles, explaining that his health problems began in 2020 when he lost his sight.
He recalled that, before the health issues started, he had decided to spend more time traveling outside Nigeria, having lived most of his life in Lagos. However, after the travel restrictions in 2020, he began experiencing serious health problems. He lost his sight, underwent surgery to regain it, and later learned that he had chronic kidney disease.
After his diagnosis, he moved to the U.S., where he started dialysis. Eventually, DJ Jimmy Jatt returned to Nigeria, where he received a kidney transplant. Following the surgery, he took some time to recover properly.
He also clarified that his kidney condition was not related to his lifestyle choices. DJ Jimmy Jatt explained that he has never smoked and had stopped drinking alcohol for years. The root cause of his kidney problems was diabetes.
Throughout his struggles, DJ Jimmy Jatt has remained focused on his health and career. Despite the challenges, he continued to perform as a DJ in the U.S. and Europe and later returned to Nigeria in December. His story highlights the importance of staying resilient in the face of adversity and raising awareness about the effects of chronic diseases like kidney failure.
