I influenced Israeli-Hamas agreement — Trump

Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States, has claimed that his efforts played a key role in bringing about the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. He explained that the pressure from his incoming administration was crucial in making the deal happen, including the release of hostages.

The agreement centers around exchanging Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. However, it still needs to be approved by Israel’s security cabinet before it can officially go into effect. Once the deal is approved, both sides will work toward negotiating a permanent end to the conflict.

Speaking on the Dan Bongino Show, Trump emphasized that the agreement would not have happened without the involvement of his team, including Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff. He proudly stated, “If we weren’t involved, the deal would’ve never happened. We changed the course of it quickly.”

Trump also criticized outgoing President Joe Biden, who had previously proposed a ceasefire agreement. Trump called Biden “ungracious” for taking credit for the deal and said, “He didn’t do anything. If we hadn’t gotten involved, the hostages would never have been freed.”

The proposed ceasefire includes an initial 42-day period where 33 hostages would be released, and Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza’s population centers. The second phase of the agreement could bring a permanent end to the war, as outlined by President Biden in his earlier proposal.
